Inglewood
Calgary’s oldest neighbourhood, reinvented.

The Beltline takes its name from the streetcar “belt line” that once looped through the district in the early 1900s. Today it is the densest residential neighbourhood in Calgary, stitched together from former warehouse blocks, heritage sandstone, and a skyline of glassy residential towers.
What it’s like to live here
Life in the Beltline happens on foot. 17th Avenue SW is lined with restaurants, coffee bars and patios, and on game nights it becomes the famous “Red Mile.” Central Memorial Park, one of the city’s oldest green spaces, offers a quiet garden courtyard steps from the action, and the Stampede grounds sit just to the east.
Real estate snapshot
Most homes here are condominiums, from compact studios aimed at first-time buyers to sub-penthouses with mountain views. Converted warehouse lofts with exposed brick and timber in the Warehouse District around 10th and 11th Avenue are some of the most sought-after character units in the city. When you compare buildings, look closely at condo fees, reserve fund studies and parking: they vary widely from tower to tower.
Why buyers choose the Beltline
- Walk to work downtown in 10 to 20 minutes
- Hundreds of restaurants, shops and fitness studios nearby
- A wide range of price points in one neighbourhood
